BACKGROUND: For over 30 years the name Momeni has been synonymous with quality rugs, distinctive designs, and warm, friendly service. Since the company’s early years, it has evolved into a one-stop source for everything from hand-knotted to hand-tufted to power-loomed qualities.
Momeni offers over 75 collections consisting of close to 1,000 programmed designs in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. In addition, we have one of the finest assortments of one-of-a-kind rugs—personally selected by us—for buyers who are looking for something truly unique.
PHILOSOPHY: When Ali “Haji” Akbar Momeni started Momeni, Inc. in 1975 he believed that if you “make good rugs that people like” these same people will continue to come back for the quality product that you offer. This simple belief would lay the foundation for a lasting partnership between vendor and dealer.
The rug industry has changed since Momeni first began selling rugs, but Haji’s philosophy has laid the cornerstone to make the company what it is today. Momeni still believes that the relationship that is forged between customer and supplier is one of the most important ones in business.
QUALITY: Known throughout the industry for our exceptional use of color and design, Momeni’s quality is equally unparalleled. Special attention is taken during every step of the production cycle to ensure that the Momeni standard of quality is always adhered to.
The dying and washing of the wool, as well as the shearing, weaving, carving, and finishing are all reviewed during manufacturing so that every rug that we produce is something that both Momeni and our customers can be proud of.
STYLES and DIVERSITY: Momeni prides our self on an innovative approach to design, encompassing all genres from traditional to contemporary in striking color palettes that set our rugs apart. Our offerings have expanded through the years to include beautiful designs in a wide assortment of qualities.
Since the introduction of New Wave, we have expanded our contemporary offering with the introduction of collections like Tibet, Elements, and Java, which take the look of modern motifs and utilizing them in vastly different qualities, resulting in individual twists on a common theme. This same method is used for our traditional and transitional collections and it is evident in the distinctiveness of Persian Garden, Mandalay, and Old World and Nouveau, Delhi, and Spencer, respectively.
It is this process that helps us to create styles that are individual, yet surprisingly characteristic of what the Momeni brand encompasses.
ORIGINALITY: Perhaps nothing personifies Momeni more than one word—originality. From the innovative Trek collection to the cutting edge New Wave collection, Momeni strives to create unique, distinctive designs.
Product development is the key to success in the rug industry. We are constantly working on new designs and qualities to introduce to the market, as well as trying new colorations in existing designs so that our line is always fresh and new. Over the years we have increased our shape offering and our collections reflect this. You can find squares, rounds, octagons, and star shapes in some of our most popular collections including Maison, New Wave, Tibet, Sultan and many of our power-loomed groups. We also offer an extensive assortment of cut-to-order roll runners in numerous power-loomed designs and color blankets in this quality, as well as tufted and hooked qualities. Our color blankets are a great way to display all of the colors available in a design without the investment of multiple full-sized rugs.
An original approach to everything we develop is what makes us as unique as our product.
MANUFACTURING: Since our inception, we have evolved from importer to manufacturer of fine rugs. In 2004 we began a joint venture with our factories in China to produce power-loomed carpets and now have several looms devoted to this quality.
Each loom features a distinctive color palette that lays the foundation for all of the nine collections that they produce. From traditional to transitional to contemporary and Arts and Crafts, there is something for even the most discerning of customers.
All of our power-loomed rugs are made of 100% New Zealand wool and feature hand-finishing that consists of hand-serged edges; many also have hand-carving for added depth. It is this attention to detail that sets us apart and makes these pieces so special.
WEBSITE AND MARKETING: Momeni’s website is devoted to our customers—both existing and prospective. Extremely user-friendly, it features all of our collections with full listings of available sizes, colors, and shapes so it makes it easy for you to shop or browse. You can search by lifestyle, quality, and color and find that perfect rug. We also feature an image gallery where you will see how some of our rugs are made and many in elegant room scenes. In addition, there is a “Dealer Locater”, which will help prospective consumers find a Momeni dealer closest to them.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Momeni has one of the most experienced, helpful customer service departments in the industry. Our associates are extremely knowledgeable in the product and can answer any question that you many have on colors, sizing, and complementary rugs, just to name a few, as well as fulfill all of your order requests.
GROWTH: Momeni is constantly growing and evolving, finding ways to become better in everything we do and produce. From our early years we have developed into a diversified organization that expands from the U.S. to various other countries through global partnerships, all of which help us to achieve our goals.
In addition to this, we have over 200,000 square feet of facilities, including a company-owned warehouse in Atlanta and our headquarters and main showroom in New Jersey. We also have permanent showrooms in Atlanta, High Point, New York, and Las Vegas, with a national sales force to service all of our customers throughout the country.
